Casserole ovale profonde avec couvercle et gril en acier inoxydable

I ordered this as a thank you gift for a client who lives in a loft with a small kitchen. He needed a large pan that could serve multiple functions - particularly grilling, since he can’t have a grill on his balcony. More importantly, it needed to work on his induction range. This fits the bill perfectly! I can’t speak to how it performs (and neither can he since he’s out of town for several more weeks), however, I can attest that it appears to be a very high quality piece of cookware! I removed it from the box to ensure it was in good condition and thumbed through the book. I think someone would really have to read the book to understand how to use all the components of this set properly and to get the most use out of this pan; there appears to be a lot it can do! There is also a DVD included but...who watches those anymore? I’m sure he can find the same video online. One thing that surprised me is that this pan is oval. It totally says that in the title, but I somehow missed it. Fortunately an oval pan will work exceptionally well on his induction range which has two burners that can be seamlessly connected, however, I’m not sure how this would work on a traditional gas oven with round burners. I would think it could be difficult to spread heat evenly on one round burner, or even when spanning two burners. 4 stars for the quality first impression + its multi-functionality! If I hear more after he cooks his first meal, I’ll update this review...hopefully to 5 stars!

This Italian made Mepra casserole dish is heavy and very attractive, enough to use on your table with very fine pieces. The dish is extremely well made and can be used for 6 different cooking techniques. It can be used on a variety of different cook tops. It comes with a recipe book that shows calorie amounts, fat percentage and cooking times. The glass lid has a thermometer in the knob and a steam release button. I highly recommend this Mepra casserole dish in the Tried and True Program and Wayfair. Thank you!

Its a gorgeous piece of cookware!! Im still looking for just the right dish for when my sons family of six visits me. Today it was Crab Rangoon in Chinese Dumplings. They were steamed then air fried....and very popular with the adults. The kids still prefer hot dogs and macaroni and cheese!! Highly recommend this pot and trying dishes out of your comfort zone.

An extremely well-made, luxurious piece. It is a beautiful as it is functional. I have a large family and the size is excellent for making a big one pot meal! The included cookbook is quite gourmet and the recipes call for many ingredients that I dont keep on hand in my kitchen. I probably wont ever make any of the recipes, but it was fun to read and dream of having the time to do so! The pan cooks pretty evenly, even over two burners on my gas stove. The lid seals nicely, and the temperature gauge on the lid does seem to move up accordingly as the food cooks, although, admit, I wasnt too reliant upon it. The casserole is beautiful enough to go from cooking to serving dish, it has been crafted with form and function in mind. Truly worth the steeper price tag for piece that will last.

This is a great pan. I was looking for a large vessel that I could use to sear food on the stove top and then finish by braising in the oven and this pan does just that. It also has a large capacity, not just by depth but by diameter. The pan comes with a recipe book and CD, with a heavy emphasis on steaming foods using the included steamer rack. The lid also has a thermometer built in, but be prepared to convert from C to F. So far I am very pleased with this pan.
