Unfortunately, we needed to return our order. The color is more gray--like a dark taupe and the border can look blue in some light. The bowls and mugs were lovely, but the salad and dinner plates were not carefully finished. The glossy paint on the rim of the plates bled over the margin and looked patchy and inconsistent. At this price point, more care should have been taken to ensure a consistent finish.
