Yes these are small mugs. They do not hold 12 oz. 11.3oz would have the liquid overfilling the mug. You could possibly hold 9oz cafe + 1oz creamer/milk. The design is as described. The packaging is excellent with bubble wrap and each mug in an individual small but thin box. They are great. I will probably let the kids use them as juice mugs for breakfast.

Mugs were extremely small not at all what we expected. These are more for kids than for adults. That being said the quality is good but hardly useable for adults.
