(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Napoleon sent me this item to test. I was using the chicken roaster in the first image and it was ok but it was not very sturdy on the grill. Also, there was only one beer can size that fitted in. With that holder the fat of the chicken fell on the grill during cooking and you had to watch that the chicken doesn't catch fire. The Napoleon roaster is sturdy because of the roasting pan and you can spin it around easily to cook the chicken evenly. The fat drips in the roasting pan and not on the fire so the chicken can be cooked on direct or indirect heat. It is also very easy to clean. You can fill the central container with wathever liquid you want which is a nice feature. I will always use it in the future and I'll try roasting vegetables at the same time on the pan.

What caught my eye was that I could finally try what many of my friends did already which is cooking a beer-chicken. With a delicious recipe from a friend in Texas, we dry-rubbed the chicken, added the same spice with a Corona beer into the holder and put the chiken in the bbq at 250F. The 5 lb chicken was done in 2:20hr and came out juicy and tender. The pan can be used for roasting vegetables or cooking a roast and, bonus, the cleaning was super easy with the glaze ceramic finish. Looking forward to my next BBQ!

I received this product at no cost from the Tester Team to review. This is an hinest review as you can see. The good is it cooked the chicken well and infused it with the liquid of my choice. I used a citrus raddler(highly recommend). The top of the bird was crispy but the bottom could have been crispier. This was expected as the base of the roaster is wide which is great to add veggies. Now the bad. I found this to be one of the most difficult things to scrub and unfortunately after trying multiple scrubbers including steel wool. I've given up and I'm currently letting it soak. I was also a little nervous handling this roaster in the sink as I was worried bumping might cause the ceramic material to break. I also have the Napoleon rotisserie and prefer that for making the skin crispy and ease of cleaning. In the end I would not recommend for the simple reason of how difficult it was to clean.

Pros: •BBQ, oven and dishwasher safe. •Can use with or without “beer can” portion. Dual purpose is always a win. •Cook chicken and veggies at once. I roasted chicken on the bbq with veggies, the chicken was exceptionally juicy and flavourful. Veggies caught all the juices and made a lovely sauce. •No dripping mess on the grill. •Looks great as serving dish once cooked •Easy washing, stuck on bits washed right off in the sink. Cons: It’s ceramic, it could break during washing and storage. Needs a little care. Overall, it’s a good set to have. Definitely would be handy in the winter months to get that crispy and juicy roasted chicken in the oven.
