When I first took out the knife, it felt a little light, as did the small spoon and small fork. But then I looked at them side-to-side with my old flatware that I love and they're not that much different. The St. James are a bit more delicate, which actually looks more elegant. My old set now looks more like a bistro set. The St. James are 18/10 and my old ones are a lesser percentage. I think after holding big fork and knife in my hand that they look quite elegant and feel weighty enough. Bright and shiny, very pretty. And such a great deal.
