While I have a few enameled cast iron saucepans, this one is unique among my collections for its height. Some of the things I make, sauces included, are best prepared in a deeper vessel. It conducts heat, is durable, retains the moisture, and is very consistent use after use. At first I hesitated because I thought this pan might be kind of gimmicky, but I'm glad I chose to acquire it.

This lovely cast iron sauce pan has inspired me to cook gourmet food. The size is perfect for 1-2 persons. It's not heavy and I can easily lift it with one hand. I use it to cook rice, soup, congee, noodles, etc. Very versatile, and easy to clean as well. I'm very happy with the purchase.

When will you make this available in black? Black is your signature color and it’s neutral to go with most collections but this essential saucier have been offered only in graphite grey for years now. Please listen to your costumers and make this available in black. You’ll sell more of it anyways.

Excellent pot. Hold more than my All-Clad Butter Warmer and is perfect for heating a box of broth when making risotto. Might have to get the 3qt one too.
