Works great! Kids can even use it. It is a slower process than a powered splitter, but it makes up for it in portability and cost. Was easily handling 18-22in rounds of Poplar.

The SnowJoe 10 ton wood splitter works exactly as described. Very solidly constructed. I highly recommend it.

There is very poor support from sun jo for fixing this splitter

wanted to have something a woman could use to split logs so that I can get logs ready for the fire without asking my husband to do it all the time. I have bad shoulders, so I can’t swing an ax, and don’t feel comfortable doing that anyway! Once you learn how to use this splitter PROPERLY, it’s really quite simple! I use it to split my wood all the way to kindling!!! I love this splitter! Would highly recommend. And there’s a great YouTube video a fella has put out to use it. The instructions weren’t as clear as his demo!

This log splitter has helped me split numerous cords of firewood in the time I’ve had it. I’ve split log rounds up to 20” in diameter and 20” in length, and the unit seems capable of handling even larger rounds than that. Unlike splitting rounds with a splitting maul or axe, this unit allows you to make clean, even, uniform cuts which makes stacking the firewood easier. And more importantly, this unit saves your arms and back from the exertion of a maul or axe. My wife is 5’1, 98 pounds, 67 years old, and can easily use this tool. And yes, I am a REAL customer and this is a REAL review!

I live on a lake and occasionally have trees or limbs to cut up and split so I can burn them in my fire pit. This splitter works perfectly! I wish I would have had one of these 10 years ago! It's easy to use and easy to store. It's also extremely powerful! I had no idea that a product like this existed. It's so simple and so effective!

I live in a cabin off grid and was always throwing out my back/shoulder splitting wood with a maul. This machine is more powerful than a splitting maul and doesn’t hurt my back to use. It’s a little slower to use than other methods but it’s kind of fun to do. I keep it in my wood room and that’s another advantage- it works in a low ceiling area, unlike a maul. It has a bigger piston on the left side than the right; at first I thought that was a weird flaw but it’s actually smart design— the bigger piston moves the splitter further but the smaller one gives you extra leverage for making the final crack into hard pieces of firewood. I will probably still borrow a gas splitter when doing major amounts of wood splitting for the year but this thing is fantastic.

Splits very hard wood, like aged oak and green sycamore. It takes time and effort (a good workout) but the logs eventually split. The piston gasket on mine failed after a few months and the company was unable to supply the part. They wanted me to send the whole thing back for a replacement but that was too much trouble (it weighs a ton). I was able to clean and reset the gasket and it is still working.

I live in MD where it gets cold a few months out of the year. I enjoy splitting wood because not only is it satifying but, it's also a great workout. The customer service rep was extremely helpful and replaced a part (not defective) within a few days at no cost to me.
