I have been enjoying perfect coffee every brew cycle since purchasing this brewer some six months ago and although it took me more time to understand the clean indicator and cycle I managed to master the exercise with relative ease. Please include the length of time for a complete clean cycle to better understand the full process. I thought, perhaps, the electronics went kaflooey after the cat knocked the unit off the table and onto the floor but the brewer didn’t give up the ghost. I appreciate the flat lid surface for setting the carafe or mug. Thanks

Overall, this is a good coffee pot - but the permanent reusable filter is a big mess to clean every day. We ended up removing it and just putting in a paper filter in the large basket. Leaves the coffee tasting less full bodied, but still good. Also, be advised that the coffee strength button does NOT work in 1-4 cup mode (this is not stated in the instruction booklet). I also wish it had a red lighted on/off button like most coffee pots do. I'm routinely looking at it to make sure I really turned it off! It's a good coffee pot, but not the best we've ever had ...

Disappointed with this machine. I don't like sipping coffee and getting a mouthful of grounds. I tried adding a paper filter to solve the problem, but it only caused the coffee to overflow and get grounds throughout inside. West Bend always had a good reputation, but I guess quality has basically gone out the window on most new appliances. The coffee however does taste good abd it is a good looking unit.
