Works perfectly for book & toy storage

Great quality!!

I have a problem writing this review because I am so torn over this kitchen pantry. On one hand it is very beautiful and offers an amazing amount of storage space. Initially I was VERY excited to see that they sent clear directions, real tools and actual wood drawers!! I mean I was blown away! BUT on the other hand…. clarification needs to be made that this is NOT 47.2” tall, like that title of the cabinet says it is. So, it is listed wrong. In the description you can clearly see it is actually 63” high!!! BIG difference! BUT…that is not the biggest problem! When I opened this cabinet there was a chemical smell. Now, I will say that I have gotten a LOT of items through Wayfair-for years. And every time I get something there is usually a chemical smell. I understand the need to prepare the items for storage, to keep out bugs and rats and such. But usually, it is a faint smell and sometimes barely even noticeable. This was not the case with this cabinet. The smell of chemical was very strong, but I was so excited to put it together that I didn’t think to air it out first. My husband was cooking so I began to put it together by myself in the living room. Through the assembly I began to feel dizzy and weak. The first time I really took notice of it, I assumed I might be getting a sick or maybe I was exhausted, and I had to take a break. I walked away, got something to drink and ate lunch, but after about 15 mins I proceeded to try and put it together. About this time my husband joined me to help. After 10 mins I was in the standing position and I was trying to install one of the pieces of hardware when my knees gave way and I almost fell down. I was able to catch myself on the cabinet but was so dizzy that my husband had to help me to the couch. It was at this juncture that he mentioned feeling dizzy too! Immediately I recognized that the fumes from the cabinet might be the culprit. However, I could not stand to get out of the room! My husband got me a paper towel to place over my face and he helped escort me to our bedroom, which was closed off from the living room. Both of us laid on the bed for what seemed like an eternity. Then my ears heard our poor birds carrying on intensely in the living room and I told my husband that we had to get them and the dogs out too or they would die!!! We both got up and I grabbed the same paper towel to place back over my nose and mouth. I was stunned to smell the chemicals in the paper towel!!! We got the animals out, opened the doors to the house, turned on fans, and moved all the pieces of the cabinet out of the house. It took over two hours to air out the house. The cabinet had initially been set in front of the ferret and the poor thing walked like it was drunk and was lethargic for four days! I wound up putting it together outside and that is where it will stay. I hope and pray that this cabinet is the only one that has this much chemical on it-but it’s a risk that I don’t think anyone wants to take. I am sad to say that I would NOT recommend this cabinet. BUYER BEWARE!

This pantry cabinet is just what I was isearching for! The size is perfect and the shelving, although not adjustable, works perfectly for my needs. The two drawers on the bottom are a great size as well. The assembly took a few hours by myself but the instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I look forward to using this for many years to come

I really like this pantry, except for the strong chemical smell that came right when I opened the box. It has continued to smell even after a week of having it. So heads up, you may want to leave the doors open after you put it together to air out the smell. That’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars. It wasn’t too difficult to put together and I like that the doors have space for extra storage.
