Superb item

A great toaster....if you're buying it for the looks. But when you pay this much for a toaster, you'd think it would make good toast. It has one job! Sadly, it toasts just as poorly and unevenly as the $20 toaster it was meant to replace. Apparently the incredible heating element technology of 40 years ago is just unachievable these days. If you're looking for something that looks beautiful and generally appears well designed, sure, buy this "premium" toaster. However if you're like me and favor function over form, especially when paying dearly for it....stick with a $20 toaster. You can literally see the cold spots in the heating elements in the attached photo and those cold spots can been seen in various places on both sides of both slots.
