This is surprisingly complimentary to a modern farmhouse decor, without looking ridiculously rustic, or ridiculously over the top, fancy-dancy. I am still thinking about what to use for globes. I think round, clear and simple will be the final choice. This fixture is big enough to call out "dining room", light enough to handle, and works on a sloped ceiling. We are using the chain to swag over to a better hanging spot than the present.
