Bought it place along the baseboard of the long hallway, so I can see the floor in the dark. I keep the remote in the LR, I bought the compatible wall mounted touch pad for the end of the hallway to turn it off. Better than turning on the overhead light, and I don't have to get up, turn on light, then go back to LR or kitchen to turn off lights in those rooms. Love this freaking thing! Truly one of my best purchases - bright, long lasting battery, and it's portable which is awesome. The front hall closet in my old farm house doesn't have a wired light in it, we've tried the puck style, but they were never bright enough to see down in the bottom of the closet under the coats and such. This thing is not only bright enough to light the whole space up, but if you do need to really dig down and peek into a box, you can just grab it from the base and get a closer look.
