I purchased a 40” tall planter that was designed to have a shelf so that the planting space would not require so much soil. It did not come with one and the manufacturer said the planter had been discontinued. It had been difficult finding a planter that was tall enough for the hanging leaves , so I was happy when I found it and it matched my patio furniture. I wanted to be able to easily move the planter, too. This insert solved the problem and my orchid cactus is very happy that it can spread its leaves . I did not need the liner but the insert was perfect and looked like it had been made to fit on the supports inside the planter! Delighted with my purchase !

This planter shelf is awesome! We had a very large planter and needed an interior support to hold up a faux round boxwood topiary that has a heavy base attached so it wouldnt sink and deform the ball structure. This shelf works perfectly! Just measure how far down inside your existing planter you need the shelf to sit, then the interior dimensions of the planter at that level and order the corresponding size. We have already ordered an additional shelf in a different size for another planter that really does not need the full depth of dirtpebblesetc. The shelf is also available in a round shape. Genius invention.

Excellent product, but the measurement was off from what was advertised. It was advertised as 13.5” (square) and the product is actually 14”. This made a big difference for me as it would not fit in my pot. Since I was putting an artificial plant in it and didn’t need the drainage trough, I cut off 1/2 inch from every side so it would fit in my pot. It created a shelf, which is why I purchased it. I just was not expecting to have to modify it before using. The plastic is very sturdy and not easy to cut through.
