It’s great, looks nice, and the 10 min auto timer is cool. Is there a way to disable the abrasive “beep” sound?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product has been such a nice upgrade over my last one. Performance is amazing and it's not very loud. This product is very durable and designed wonderfully.

The fan is ok power, but on low it's still louder that the 20year old Broan range hood that it replaced. Low speed isn't loud exactly, but we really thought it would be at least as quiet if not quieter. Secondly, the touch controls make a loud beep everytime they're pressed. Useless since they light up when pressed as well, so you're fully aware of when a button is pressed without it. The button beeps are surprisingly loud and can be heard from one floor to another in our house. Not helpful for light sleepers. No way to disable. Overall preferred our 20 year old Broan hood and wish the lighting system in it still worked.

Purchased MTR2303SS this morning and spent a couple of hours installing it this afternoon. I replaced a 40 year old unit. Space was a little tight and I struggled to get the "EZ" brackets in the right place. Installing a range hood in general is not as easy as it sounds in most cases, particularly if the existing wiring isn't in quite the right place or the ducting is off by a 1/2 inch, etc. Don't forget you need to be ambidextrous and work putting pressure "up" to screw into the underneath of cabinets. In the end, with a couple of breaks, I did manage to get it installed by myself, much of that time was just getting the old one out. I'm sure an experienced person has tricks to get things right, but I did not. I must admit the brackets do help hold things in place, once you get them right (maybe a template would help?). Essentially, you get the brackets installed, then feed the wiring through, then put the securing screws in place. I also ran into trouble where the bottom of the cabinet door was too low so I had to back off the screws and put a shim in to lower the hood 1/4 inch. I'm not a fan of the "beeping" with every button press and with the 2 stage light (which is handy) you have to cycle through both settings to turn it off as there is no direct way. These are the reasons I only gave 4 out of 5. The LED lighting is great and 2 light levels is an improvement over our old unit. The 3 speed fan is great and is an improvement over our old Hi/Low fan (and I don't find it "noisy", its a fan and will make noise). The timer function will be very useful as our old unit didn't have this option.
