[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved the machine at first but within nine months it broke took me two months to get a replacement the replacement showed up with a defective tube which appeared to have something growing in it really wish this machine worked better as I absolutely adore the ice but would not buy it again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new filter that came with the ice maker doesn’t fit at all so I had to remove it and reinstall the screen rather the filter. The machine often tells me to add water when there is plenty of water in the side tank requiring me to unplug and then replug the machine in to clear the message. I’m constantly getting messages to clean/descale. There was a sticker attached to the plastic piece that sticks out from the bottom of the ice maker and it’s impossible to get the stickiness off of it - dumb decision by GE to put it there. The first version of the ice maker that I bought from GE years ago was much better.

Noise level is like a mini jet engines meets a dying cat. Completely underwhelming with the overall cost and high maintenance requirements on a weekly and monthly basis.

This is my 2nd Opal Ice Machine I absolutely LOVE THIS MACHINE the benefits I get from the machine out weighs the hassle of the maintenance you have to preform to maintain the machine as long as you follow the descaling and sanitize recommendations provided by GEhaving a Opal is a HUGE plus!

We have had our Opal Ice Machine since June 2026 and enjoy the ice we get from the machine.
