I really like the overall design, size, and appearance of this playpen. It looks great once assembled, and I like that you can configure it into different shapes.
However, my biggest concern is how sturdy it feels. During assembly, I noticed small pieces of plastic chipping off, and I found several broken plastic pieces (see photos). Some of the plastic around the hinge areas also looked like it had started to chip before we even used it. I’m planning to contact Wayfair to request replacement parts.
Because the playpen is designed to be reconfigured into different shapes, the panels have a lot of flexibility. While that’s a nice feature, it also makes the playpen feel a bit flimsy and not as rigid as I expected.
compared to my previous playpen—which lasted almost three years—this one doesn’t feel nearly as sturdy. I’m not sure how well it will hold up with everyday use over time.
That said, I’ve only had it assembled for one day, so I’m going to give it a fair chance over the next week before deciding whether to keep it or return it. I really hope my first impression is wrong because I do like the design and size. If you’re looking for a playpen that feels very solid and rigid, this is something to keep in mind.
