I sifted through tons of reviews on different loft beds and after a couple of months of thinking on it, decided to pull the trigger on this one. I’m so glad I did! Despite being made of particle board style wood, it is actually very sturdy. There are tons of screws and lots of support for each piece. I put it together myself and it took several hours over the course of 3 days. The instructions were pretty clear for the most part. The only thing I don’t like is how close to the ceiling it is, however that’s my fault for not measuring. If I had taller ceilings it would be perfect! I am 5’3” and can stand underneath with my head only slightly tilted downward, so there is a good amount of space underneath. My 8-year-old son absolutely loves it. If your child is on the cusp of a growth spurt and you have average-height ceilings then I would maybe not get this one because of how tall it is. But otherwise I would highly recommend it!

This bed is very tall! Definitely check your measurements first. It's very well-made and the end result is expansive and looks great. The instructions and assembly method, however, are both tedious and vague. Some of the design philosophy itself is aimed towards cost saving, and you essentially support that cost savings through very complicated assembly. The slats could use a physical gauge for distance, and ideally the desk top and bookshelf could be secured internally so that there arent screw heads everywhere. While the assembly and design is not perfect, the end result is still a very good quality bed with lots of storage and space underneath!
