The bed frame is as pictured. It doesn't come with anything to stabilize it other than slats that function as the "box spring". Was very disappointed that the description stated that a mattress was included; however it is not included.

Bed is rated for 800lb capacity. The slats are weak and doubt could hold a child. We had to add plywood. Then the wood split after 3 weeks of use for a 200lb person. This is not what it says it is. Do not water your money

Solidly built, but craftsmanship and attention to detail when applying finish to sideboards and footboards needs serious attention. The finish on both the original sideboards and footboard, and the replacement pieces shipped by Wayfair were marred, revealing unfinished wood in multiple places. Although marred, I kept the replacement parts that were shipped because the cosmetic damaged existed only on the inside of the pieces and are not visible when the bed is assembled. The manufacturer's QA process is clearly flawed--if it exists at all.
