We ordered this bed for our two-year-old and it works perfectly! It wasn't too difficult to assemble, though if you intend to use guard rails, you'll need to use the box spring as well. The frame for the mattress has a lip that doesn't allow the guard rail to fit properly without the box spring between the bed frame and the rail.
