What I really like about this piece, though, is that it has a presence without being huge. It’s there, but it’s not there. It’s thin enough that it doesn’t block the walking area, but it still gives us height. We have a two-story foyer, and we were missing that dimension in this area, so instead of thinking of this as just a bookcase, we used it as a piece to anchor the space, and it does that really well. This was a 1 hour build for my husband and the directions were really good on this piece. I also feel like this is a quality piece without being too spendy, because it feels nice and solid. The little metal accents are another detail I really like. They’re at the top and around the lower cabinet area, and they give it just enough character without making it look overly farmhouse. Love that there are cabinets for storage of everyday decor I am not currently using as well as a drawer (great for cat treats that they can't access) and other oddities. The drawer stops when pulled out I Love this as well as the fact that the knobs are hearty yet not too large. I Have been able to change the shelves over and over again as I decide how I want to style this and the fact that it is so easy to move the shelving yet the shelves ar secure is amazing, really this is the easiest bookcase we have had with shelving to change to how we need it. Even the top can be used for display, though I Have not figured what I want to do with that yet, it is there and useable so good for all season decor or change it every season. The wall area was not wide and the fact that this fit is like the piece I have been searching for without knowing it and finally found. It Fits. I really like how it turned out here, and I love that I can keep changing what’s on it while still having the drawer and cabinet below for extra storage.
