Very soft. I like the "pocket" at the opening so your pillow doesn't shift out of the case

The pillowcases came in a nice neat little pouch with a drawstring made from the same material. They appear to be nicely sewn although they are thinner and more see-through than I had expected. For what they are being used for (sitting behind 2 other pillows) they will work fine. I would not use them for front pillows as you can lightly see the pillow inside the pillowcase.
