I love my faucet's looks and the no-touch functionality. I HATE that it won't stop leaking, even after replacing the cartridge. How can it be this hard???

Like the other customers here, I have had to replace my 1255 cartridge several times. The last two cartridges started leaking after a year or less. I have never had this happen with a faucet before. Why don't you do something about this? If nothing can be done, I will be replacing your faucet with another brand.

These cartridges fail after a couple years, but worse than that, the locking nut is loosened by day to day use of this sink, so you have to take it apart and tighten it every few months or risk a major leak and water damage

I thought the Moen brand was a great brand and have been using them exclusivly afer a Brand PF was such a terrible brand to find parts for, or fix. Now this new Moen cartridge in my Kitchen pullout sprayer Moen faucett has turned into a disappointment. The cartridge leaks after several years not the hose. Then if you take it apart and retighten the cartridge nut it will leak again after several months. It the design needs a locking tab for the cartridge nut as every time you turn the faucett side to side you are losening the cartridge nut, and then it leaks again. Water damaage down in your sink cabinent or something underneath the leak area.

My faucet started leaking and I got this replacement part last March. The faucet started leaking again and now I need another cartridge. Is Moen making them any better in 2024?

Now I always buy Moen and it’s my go to brand. In fact my house faucets and shower heads are all Moen. That’s how much I trust the brand. However this faucet cartridge failed after 5 years of use causing the water to flow back down water pipe and leaked to the basement. The paint on my recently renovated basement peeled and stained! More I I will be replacing the faucet another model or brand. Can’t afford to have another costly failure!

The faucet was supplied by Moen to replace a discontinued model. Both the old faucet and this new replacement go through cartridges far too often. We have had the Aberdeen for 3.5 years and are replacing the 1255 cartridge with the 3rd cartridge (1st cartridge lasted 2 years and 2nd lasted 1.5 years). Moen makes wonderful, aesthetically pleasing products but with cartridge wear out being at such a fast rate these products get lower satisfaction points due to a lacking functionality and reliability. In a busy household a good looking kitchen faucet is useless if it doesn't work because the cartridge leaks. We don't have time in our lives to be maintaining fixtures this often. With both of the moen faucets we have owned we could tell in advance that a cartridge was on its way out. This latest cartridge failure happened very suddenly and is leaking at a fast, flooding rate. Moen will honour the replacement cartridge warranty as per the limited life time warranty, though with the inflated prices we pay to purchase these fixtures we are, in reality, paying up front for an extended warranty we wouldn't otherwise agree to.

Only one year after replacing the 1255 cartridge it's leaking again requiring another replacement. Sounds like many are having the same problem. Why can't Moen provide a cartridge that doesn't leak?

I bought this One-Handle Pullout faucet in 2019 and it started leaking in September 2022. The problem traced to the cartridge retaining nut which had loosened over time. I simply tightened the same/original plastic nut and replaced the handle. The nut came loose and leaked again 3-1/2 months later (New Year's Day, 2023). Tightening again for a temporary repair, days later I eventually got through to Moen at 1-800-289-6636. The phone rep was excellent. After confirming I had their faucet (original installation guide, but no receipt), she ordered me a replacement cartridge and retainer nut at no-cost. The original nut has a standard continuous-thread design (no position-retainer) and is prone to backing-out/loosening over time. The new retainer nut has a discontinuous/split-thread of some sort, designed to jam in place. Installation instructions say: "Tighten the nut "Hand Tight" then rotate an additional 90 degrees (1/4 turn)." But, since the jamming resistance begins to occur with every 1/4 turn during initial tightening, it's a bit of a guess what "Hand Tight" means. (It's probably something near a full-turn past the point where jamming resistance is hand-tight with no tool.) But using a 13/16 socket (alone) in my hand gave a decent sense of "reasonably tight" before applying the final 1/4 turn.
