[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the BergHOFF Leo Legacy 9-inch shears for a while now, and overall they’ve been a solid addition to my kitchen. The size is great for my hands and not too big or clumsy. The mechanism is also good for safety. The first thing I noticed was how sleek and sturdy they feel. The stainless-steel construction looks premium, and they don’t feel flimsy or lightweight in a bad way.
In terms of performance, these shears handle everyday kitchen tasks very well. I mainly use them for cutting poultry, trimming fat, snipping herbs, and opening food packaging. They cut cleanly through joints and skin without requiring much force, and the blades feel sharp and precise. I like that I have good control while using them, which makes prep feel safer and more efficient.
The handles are comfortable to hold, even during longer prep sessions. They fit nicely in my hand and don’t dig into my fingers, which is something I’ve had issues with on cheaper kitchen scissors. Cleaning has also been easy—I usually hand wash them, and they don’t seem to trap food or odors.
That said, I wouldn’t consider these heavy-duty butcher shears. For very thick bones or frequent large poultry breakdowns, I’d probably want something more robust. For normal home cooking, though, they do the job well.
Overall, I’m happy with the BergHOFF Leo Legacy 9-inch shears. They’re attractive, comfortable, and reliable for everyday kitchen use, making them a good choice if you want something a step above basic kitchen scissors without going overboard.
