Update the knives are sharp and work well so I gave them another star. The knives are small, there isnt a sharpening tool included, and the wood block is sparsely filled which is still odd to me. I will need to keep my old knife set because it offers larger knives, a better variety and a sharpening rod. 12 Piece knife set with 3 empty slots in the block. With an expandable extra slot. There are three extra slots. I dont understand and wish someone would explain this odd knife set to me. There are 6 steak knives, 1 paring knife, 1 utility knife, 1 serrated utility knife, 1 Japanese Chef Santoku knife and 1 chefs knife. 11 knives and the bamboo block. No sharpening tool. The 11 knives are pretty and new like all new knives. These are quite lightweight and it will take some time before I will know if they work well in the kitchen. But the block looks funny and empty with 14 slots and only 11 knives. I will come back to update my review if the knives deserve anymore than 2 stars. For now, 2 is all they get.

This came boxed very securely and I am very happy with the look of the set. The knives feel weighty and high quality. The assortment of knives is just what I needed. The only thing that could make it better is 8 steak knives instead of 6.
