The coffee maker looks great, however it was delivered damaged and I now have to wait for 4-6 days for a response from the manufacturer to confirm what they will do. Not helpful when your current machine is not working.

Works great - drips are minimal and keeps coffee hot for hours without burning taste!

Giving the Hamilton Beach coffee maker w/thermal carafe a 4 star/5. It loses one star as it is prone to drip when pouring from the carafe into a cup and the fact that the water filter is almost impossible to insert into the bottom of the resevoir as the handle to insert it is way too short. I did send a comment to HB directly asking them to correct this issue.

I expected to return it after reading some critical reviews, but actually like it enough to keep. Best feature for me is the front-fill. No more pulling the pot out from under the cabinet to awkwardly fill from the back. This is a MAJOR convenience. Same with the swing out basket. Super easy. The carafe keeps the coffee hot/warm for several hours. I’m sure it would last even longer if I did the recommended fill with hot water first, but that kind of defeats the point of the programmable feature. As far as I can tell, this does not automatically shut off once brewing is done, despite saying it does. The brew light stays on for two hours, and there appears to be a heat plate working under the carafe. The brew light and metal carafe also makes it hard to tell when the machine is done brewing, one of my minor complaints. As for the reviews concerning dribbling and leaking of the carafe: if the lid is properly on, this doesn’t happen. There is also a loose “flap” inside the pour spout that maintains a smooth pour. But if it gets stuck open, you get a dribble. I solve this by giving the lid a quick shake to hear the flap before I lock it in place. Mostly I am very happy with this machine, and I hope it lasts. Oh, also, it makes a delicious cup of coffee.
