I bought this kettle 2 years ago. We drink a lot of tea and therefore use it everyday. It is very sturdy and robust. We had no problems whatsoever so far. We lived in the area with hard water and had to decalcify approximately once a month. Now living in New England where water is much softer, so we do it maybe twice a year. The filling scale is very practical. So is the temperature regulator in the base in case you want to brew tea other than black which require lower water temperature. The only thing I would point out is that lever of that regulator moves quite easily and one might move it simply when placing the kettle on its base, but this can easily be avoids if you position the base so you don’t touch it with your hand when putting the kettle on.

It was 20 years old and still worked fine, but the paint near the pour spout started to chip off. I loved the old one so much I bought the exact same thing. Thank you, KitchenAid, for an absolutely great product!
