This will be my new go to pan. It is solid, sturdy yet ergonomic with the handles. The depth is great for sautéing. The true red color will make this a fun pan to use for serving spicy appetizers. It holds heat extremely well. The dual pour sections make it easy to drain off any extra, unwanted fluid. The box was shipped, wrapped in bubble wrap. That was a good precaution. The box still came with some corner damage but the pan itself was fine. The package was heavy so it makes sense it might take a bit of a beating during shipping. Read the instructions! This is not like my traditional, old cast iron pans. It seems this does not season to a non-stick interior finish. The instructions suggest a bit of fat when heating to properly heat and cook foods. Not an issue for me so this will be a great go to for cooking. Highly recommend at this price point. I look forward to adding other Lava products to my cooking arsenal.

I ordered this because it matched my red kitchen, and items from another well known cast iron manufacturer. I could not be more happier with this pan! It is not very deep, so I am not sure how well it would work for frying. I have cast iron skillets that are traditionally shaped, and deeper than this one. That being said, I have made an egg omelet and sautéed shrimp in this pan, and cleanup was a breeze! At first it looked like it was going to stick, but a little water and a soft scrubby sponge and it came clean just like new. The photos show it AFTER two uses. The only complaint is the slight discolored spot on the bottom after using it. That said it is only cosmetic and trite. I did season this skillet when I got it, but it really didnt need it. I look forward to many more years of use with this product!

So this pan is awesome if you like cast iron but hate the seasoning part and the weight of it. This one if half the height of my other cast iron and so much easier to lift and clean. The non-stick is true and easy to clean.
