I bought this pot because I had a disastrous time making tomato sauce with my existing pots. None were big enough, so I had to use THREE pots. And the largest one of them had a huge burning issue. I needed a pot that I could use on a burner on my induction stove that was NOT the largest burner (that's where my canner goes!), that didn't burn the tomato products when I made them, and that could fit what the previous three pots did. The tapered bottom made this fit well on a smaller burner on my stove. After this arrived, I made tomato paste with it, and it was a perfect fit for my needs. When I was done canning, I saw there wasn't any burned on tomato at the bottom at all. It's wonderful.
