I consider myself a chef aficionado—though not certified, I am highly enthusiastic about food and cooking for gatherings of various sizes.
Last week, I received my new Wüsthof Classic Ikon 15-piece set, and I am absolutely loving it!
I have owned a Wüsthof Pro bread knife for a few years, which influenced my decision to choose the Wüsthof Classic Ikon over the Henckels Zwilling Pro. This new set is beautiful, well-crafted, and impressively sharp. Last weekend, during a small gathering, I showcased my knives to friends and family, demonstrating how effortlessly they slice through bread, meat, and other foods. I also love the wood color and overall quality of the set. These knives are balanced, extremely sharp, and make chopping and cutting a breeze.
Even though I am giving this set a 5-star rating, I have a couple of observations. I believe the separation between the knives in the block should be slightly wider. Additionally, there should be a block designed for either a 15 or 16-piece set that does not feature empty holes. The first question everyone asked was whether I was missing two knives.
Furthermore, when comparing the handle grip of the Wüsthof Classic Ikon to that of the Wüsthof Pro, I found the Pro more comfortable and secure to handle, particularly when wet. While the Classic Ikon handle is more stylish and modern, the Pro's larger grip felt better to me. Perhaps I will adjust as I continue to use the Classic Ikon.
Overall, I am very pleased with my new set. A+!
Feel free to send me any products or knives, and I will provide an honest and fair review. Thank you.
