Well balanced, sharp and look great

My wife and I received a block of Wusthof Classic Ikon knives as a wedding gift over 20 years ago, and those blades have served us extremely well for all that time. We didn't have steak knives in our original set, so when it came time to upgrade our old steak knives, I bought a set of 4 Classic Ikon steak knives as an anniversary gift. Like all my Wusthof knives, the steak knives perform beautifully -- they cut through meat effortlessly with the precision of a surgeon's scalpel, and they fit comfortably in the hand. (And, as I do with all my knives, I touch up the edge of my steak knives with the honing steel after every use, maintaining that factory-sharp edge). A few months ago, my son dropped his steak knife when he was clearing his plate from the table, and the blade snapped when it hit the floor. I contacted Wusthof, and they quickly sent me a replacement knife, standing by their lifetime warranty.

These knives in ivory are beautiful and very sharp. I’m so glad I purchased them.

This is the second set of these steak knives that I’ve ordered. I’ve loved my first set which I’ve had for several years now. The knives appear to be the same great quality but the packaging makes it feel cheap. My first set arrived in a wooden case which I still use for storage. These came in a plastic sleeve that looks like it would hang from a cheap end department store peg hook on an end cap.
