You have to take care how you place the scoop inside, otherwise it can pop the lid out of the handle piece and prevent it from sealing. Otherwise, sturdy plastic. comfortable handles

Great container! Very convenient to use with either the 1teaspoon included or using your finger to reach for the spice. It is wonderful that it has an easy to open and close lid. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
