Beautiful! Pretty much chocolate brown.

Nice quality. The body of the fish is made from wood. More of a reddish brown tone than black.

This item is not black. It's a dark reddish brown color. And what looks like shadows on the chrome painted fins is over-spray from the reddish brown body paint. Also, stand base was poorly finished. I was debating returning it but have decided to paint it and keep it.

There were a couple of imperfections in the item, but not enough to warrant a return in light of where we are using it. Otherwise I absolutely love it!
