The battery does not last long. It lasts a few weeks. Then you are forced to rely on the electrical connection; the cable hanging is an eyesore.

I failed to notice some relatively fine-print on one of the photos included on the product page and missed the fact that the a USB Charging Adapter will not recharge recommended lithium-ion batteries, within the mirror product itself. (Should you purchase re-chargeable batteries you will have to remove them from the mirror unit and periodically recharge them with an external charger.) I purchased a set of 3500 mWh lithium-ion batteries and they last about 145 minutes when the LED is at its brightest setting. The batteries cost around $32 . Assuming the brightest setting, if one operates the lighted mirror for twenty minutes per day, one will have to remove the batteries from the mirror and recharge them approximately once a week. That is the result we have experienced thus far. The pull-out battery compartment feels (in my opinion) rather flimsy. How long will it last, only time will tell. Should it break, one could use the included black adapter and roughly six-foot long black cord to power the LED light. Given that the mirror is not black and most people do not paint their bathroom walls black that would not be particularly attractive way to go. I ended up purchasing a white adapter/charger and a nine-inch cord. I have not been able to find a white cord yet. As far as the mirror optics and the mechanical extension arm are concerned, the product is pretty good and but for the electrical components I would have given it a higher rating. Anyone okay with frequent battery recharging or alternatively with keeping the unit plugged in when in use would probably find the product satisfactory. In hindsight, I think it would have been wiser to have purchased a hard-wired setup.
