The rod pocket at the top is very narrow. Usually rod pockets can accommodate the flatter type of rod. If you use anything other than a round "rod" it won't work. I had to use the hem to insert the rod; which doesn't matter because you cannot see the bottom of the curtain on the window. They are definitely more sheer than semi-sheer but I like the pattern so I'm buying another set to block the view, but not the light.

I put these beautiful sheers on the room-side, and the room darkening panels behind them. Have received so many compliments. Lovely!
