Purchased the biggest one to have the floor to ceiling length I needed which was about $100. For thicker stuff I would have had to pay triple so for a first timer on a budget the price was right. We weren’t impressed with the palm tree- when blown up that much it was fuzzy and unattractive. We opted to start with panel 2. Each panel was labeled by number and had a set of directions at the bottom which were helpful. You basically unpeel about 6” from the top, crease down that backing part so it doesn’t get in your way and then adhere the sticky part to the wall. I ran my hand down the center and then smoothed it out to the left, back to center and smoothed it out to the right until all the bubbles and creases were gone. Then grab the creased backing from behind with one hand on each side, pull another bit down to expose more of the sticky back and repeat the rub all the way down. I got into a real groove and it felt like a breeze at times. For being thin, it was pretty forgiving. I was able to unstick and retry a few times in some spots. In others I tore it. It’s tough because you only have so much material that makes sense in a certain spot so that limits how many mistakes you can make before it feels ‘ruined’. I had the worst time trying to get clean cut edges on the ends. I tried ‘wrapping’ it around the corners thinking I could take an exact o blade and slice down the corner to make a perfect fit and then just pull off the remaining on the adjacent wall. That method was a nightmare! I ended up with tears and poked holes in those corners, thus a very imperfect cut and a mess of wrinkles. They recommend against applying to textured walls (we have the old school swirls) but at my 9 year old’s request we gave it a go. You can definitely see the texture through the wall paper and some of the more raised parts I didn’t catch to sand have poked holes through the paper. You can also clearly see the seams of the overlapping panels which bothers me. But when you look beyond that, it’s a very beautiful, relaxing scene with vibrant colors. I was disappointed they don’t mark where you should overlap the panels, so I eyeballed it using the prominent line where the sea meets the sky to help line it all up. That left me with very inconsistent seam widths. I have also noticed when the kids are rubbing up against it repeatedly in spots, it can tear or rub off the design. So not super durable, but wasn’t expecting it to be. I don’t see it lasting for years but we are pleased with it overall. Sorry wouldn’t let me upload a pic.
