The photos of this moon globe made it look almost metallic. It is not metallic. The base is clear plastic and the globe is not attached to the base at all. The globe itself is very light weight. It wasn’t what I was expecting but I still like it and decided to keep it.

Very nice piece for the library.

Perfect and is in our beach condo so we can study the real moon and refer to this amazing globe of one!
