very heavy to handle with ease; in some areas, wool pills very warm; one thing I don't like is that it leaves tufts of wool on the floor

I like that the blanket is washable wool. It is exceptional quality and I say that specifically because of the extra work that went into the quadruple seams around the edge. Other blankets had only single or double edge stitching. Most important, we are much warmer than we were with the cotton blanket.

At my stage of life, synthetics make me sweat. This wool blanket keeps us warm all winter but still breathes. I find the heaviness of it comforting. Are there softer wool blankets out there Yes, but they cost 2-3 times as much.
