Let Ryder launch and shoot submarine rings, all while saving helpless sea animals. For ages 3 and up. Batteries included. Not intended for water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids love Paw Patrol, especially my three year old. They were so excited to see this Sub Patroller! They've seen the commercials which are a bit misleading and show kids playing with the toy in an "underwater" set and has a very fine print line at the end saying it's not a water toy. One of their first questions was whether or not it can go in water. I explained it doesn't, they just have to pretend. This was a bit disappointing but they were still excited. The toy was difficult to remove from packaging as most are. There are compartments to open, a cockpit for Ryder, and fun lights and sounds that make it interesting to play with. It was a bit odd how the rings are made to shoot out - seems like the shooting piece would pull up to release instead of push down, but we figured it out. The toy seems sturdy and well-made; my kids played with it outside along with the Paw Patrol airplane for the afternoon and they can be rough on things but it still looked perfect. I took off one star for the fact that it's disappointing to have a submarine toy that can't be submerged and for the fact that as a result my kids really haven't reached to play with this much. They love bathtub toys and I know this would get so much play if it were slightly smaller and submergible, but I also understand it's hard to play interactively with the rest of the paw patrol toys in that case. I would recommend the airplane or the Patroller or other Paw Patrol vehicles that aren't "water" vehicles for ease of integrating with the other toys.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Sub Patroller is an overall great toy choice for a kid 3-8. My 3 year old son loves it but isn't quite advanced enough to use the features like the ring launcher. No big deal though, we just put those away! He loves to zoom it around and pretend it's a helicopter too! It's a great size and very sturdy, with lots of parts to arrange and play with. My partner and I have to mention this toy is LOUD and there's no volume control. The kids love it though and find it really engaging. Overall, a fun but loud toy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have three little boys aged 7, 5 and almost three. All three of them think this is a fun toy, but the littlest is totally enamored with it. And it makes sense, because it has several features that toddlers love, and that are great for imaginative play (even for older kids). First of all, I'll say that my boys know the Paw Patrol show, so that was already a hit right off the bat. The packaging was actually pretty easy to open, and presents the toy in a fun and pleasant way, so this would make a great gift! PROS: - There are not one, not two, but THREE doors to open on this toy. Kid heaven! One is where the driver sits, the other is underneath, and the other is in the back. VERY cool. All three of my kids have loved to put action figures and other random things in little cubbies and holes since they were old enough to manipulate doors on toys. So for the littlest kids, just that feature is fun enough, and for the older kids, the doors are great for acting out adventures. - There's a button that makes noises and a light that lights up on the front of the sub! Another score for little AND bigger kids. There are a variety of sounds, including whale calls, an engine running, acceleration sounds, beeping and booping like a computer or robot, and a dolphin squeaking. My littlest loves the whale noises, and of course loves turning on the light. And the noise level is NOT too loud to be obnoxious for parents. DOUBLE SCORE! - It's a sturdily-built toy. Three boys playing with it for a couple of weeks haven't caused any damage. - It "converts" from an air vehicle to a submarine. It's not an extensive transformation, but there are a couple of moving parts and it's fun for kids to use that action while they are moving from land to sea in their imaginations. Nice! - Last but DEFINITELY not least, there is an action where kids can push down on a yellow lever (it looks like a little periscope) and it shoots out these little orange discs, which are life preservers. Two great things about this - one, kids love toys that shoot stuff. At least mine do. Projectiles are fun! Two, it's not a gun. If you don't want your kids to have guns, they can still have fun with the little launching feature on this toy. Mind you, it probably isn't cool enough/doesn't shoot far enough for an older kid who really likes launching things, but all three of mine thought it was fun. Peaceable projectiles! Sweet! CONS: - I think the only downer to this toy is the fact that there are no dog figures included. Paw Patrol is totally about the doggies! But this only included the boy, Ryder. I feel like they should have included one of the pups - even just a solid plastic one (it wouldn't have been too expensive, and it would have given the child an important part of the Paw Patrol world). But honestly, this toy is so much fun that I will definitely purchase a couple of the pups to join in on the adventure. Overall, a solid toy with a bunch of features for even the littlest kids. I'd definitely recommend this one to anyone who has kids who like Paw Patrol - or any kid who just like submarines! A fun sea-exploring vehicle!
