Beware - lamp base is plastic/resin and not metal.

Wow, was I disappointed. The base is incredibly cheap. It looks like its a heavy solid unit but the weight of the whole lamp is only 11 lbs. The shade is also cheap looking. For this price it should be much better. So sorry I made this purchase.
