The lamp is beautiful and Sturdy! I like them however! you WILL HAVE TO CONECT THE ELECTRICAL PLUG TO THE ACTUAL LAMP meaning connect the positive poles of the lamp and the plug together and the negative poles of the lamp and plug together As well as connecting the ground wire to the green ground screw attached to the mounting base! I’m not and electrician I vaguely remember this kind of stuff from physics course but I wasn’t prepared for this LOL! The lamp also comes with two sets of instructions you need to read both because the correct set of instructions doesn’t tell you what to do with the grounding wire Only the “wrong set of instructions” tells you what to do with the grounding wire but they are for an entire Different type of lamp !! that’s similar to this one! Maybe that’s why they include those instructions as well I’m not sure ? The description On here doesn’t specify that you are required to connect the hardwires with this lamp I got the lamp in antique copper color After a couple of google searches I set it up but people need to be aware that this lamp doesn’t come ready to go

I purchased this as it says in the name it is dimmable and that's what I wanted. Well, using it as a plug in lamp it is NOT dimmable. I've tried dimmable bulbs and it's no go. Perhaps if it is hard wired it may be dimmable... I do like the black and gold look and it goes with other lighting in my home office. It is very hard to turn the lamp switch on and off and the clear globe shows dust easily so requires frequent cleaning.
