I bought this lantern for the Jan 2026 sever storm coming only to find out you can't use regular D size batteries!!!!! This warning should be CLEARLY indicated on the outside of THE BOX. Had I known this I never would have bought this. Now I'm stuck without backup lighting should I loose electricity!!!!!!!!!

perfect size for camp life (inside) and a long runtime with the ZX955 rechargeable battery.

I just eal18 put in the battery but it gave off the smell. And the light did not turn beside the red light. What am I doing wrong?

These are my go-to lanterns for camping and power outage situations. They sip the power and put our a quality light that is not harsh on the eyes and lights a good amount of area. I do not store them with batteries in them as I have had some that the batteries leak but in other products, this has occurred Coast has replaced them which is unheard of from other companies as storing them with batteries is a known no-no. In past usage, I get more than the stated time of run time on them.
