Solid box to carry lantern in, makes packing for a trip much easier, don't have to worry about carefully packing the lantern so as not to break the glass

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is for the soft lantern carry case. It can be used with or without a cylinder attached. It is very well constructed and I am able to keep my lantern shield and mantles in the case. When stored without the cylinder it takes up less space in my camp box than the hard cases.

The handle is red not yellow. Don't count on the handle being as-pictured.

I replaced older carrying cases that were two separate parts. The old one had a base that the lantern would sit on ( or attempt to sit on) and then the top would be placed over the lantern and base. The new clamshell style case is a wonderful improvement. No need to have someone hold the lantern and then guide the top over the lantern and base. It's getting 4 stars just as I don't know how durable the handle will be in the future.
