This wall sconce has all of the bells and whistles included. First of all it is not hardwired so no special skills needed for installation, almost anyone can just hang it. It is rechargeable so no pricey batteries to replace either. Depending on the brightness you prefer you will get 10 to 40 hours of use in one charge. You do need to supply 2 AAA batteries for the remote though. You can just touch the top of the shade to manually control the light or use the remote. There are 3 different light temperatures to suit your preference and within those you may choose brightness as well. I like the nightlight button on the remote to really dim it down. In addition this can be set to turn off at 30, 60, or 120 minutes using the remote. It is the perfect lighting for a dark corner in my office. Wherever you don't have space for a lamp this is ideal. It is decorative and functional.. The shade can be ordered in smooth or pleated and is not fabric. The base is black metal and the shade is black plastic material so I can easily wipe it clean. There is a small amount of assembly but there are detailed instructions included. The hanging hardware is included also. This is well worth the reasonable price.

I needed lights for a cabin dresser area that could offer some additional light in the mornings when getting ready and for times when the power goes out. These do not add a ton of light, but they are perfectly acceptable and complete the task. I took pictures of all 3 light temperatures at the brightest setting without any other lights on in the room so that you get an idea of how much light they offer. Happy with these lights overall, though I felt the price for just one was a tad high. If you got two instead of having to purchase a second, it would feel like it was a better value for what you got. I also feel that most situations call two lights anyway. They go together pretty easily, though the instructions were not clear about attaching the light to the base. I figured it out and have included a picture of the order I put the washer, spacer and nut in. I think I got it right. When installing them I was loving that they were not hardwired. To install you simply mount one of the traditional round electrical plates to your wall or other surface, assemble the light, place the base of the assembled light over the base plate, and add two screws to hold it in place. The sconce may be run either by touch or remote. It is also dimmable, which serves as a great night light. Regarding the nightlight function, you can simply click the night light button on the remote and also set a timer--30 min, 1 hr, 2 hrs--with the remote so that you do not run the charge down overnight. You cannot set the timer without the remote. The remote works from across our 12 x 12 cabin room, probably further but I havent tested that. The charge on them lasted nonstop for an entire day and then some. This is enough for me, though I have had charges on other rechargeable things last longer. To recharge, you can easily unscrew the top with the light and take it to a charger, or you could run a charger to it if you have an outlet close enough. They are made of reasonable quality metal with what seems like good quality black paint. They do not feel like your highest end sconce, but they look nice and do the job.

Very expensive and one didn’t work. The charge didn’t hold and the remote would not work for it. I ordered two of these and the replacement doesn’t work any better.
