About to install them soon, so can't yet say about any of those issues, but pulled one out to look at - actually nicer that i thought for the price! I was worried the wood finish would look cheap or lightweight but I really like them, they are going to fit perfectly where i want them under a long valance box that runs along the bedroom wall so that you can see the fixture but it isn't hanging down and the rectangle shape is in keeping with the location.

Just okay.
