I was looking for a black dome pendant light with a gold interior, and I found it! I like pieces that have interest rather than being basic, and this has a lot going for it: cutout edges to let some light peep out from the edges of the dome, a mixed material hanging bracket with wood and a double-pronged attachment, matte black exterior, and a soft metallic gold interior. The gold is a little bit lighter than what I was going for; I wanted something that was a slightly deeper warmer gold, but this still works great. Having that metallic gold interior helps to reflect the light back down onto the surface of the table. It also has three bulb sockets, which can make for some, or a lot of light, depending on what bulbs you choose. I went through 4 or 5 different kinds of bulbs before I could decide which one I wanted, since the switch for this particular light is unable to have a dimmer on it. I wanted a nice, soft, diffuse warm light and even though I tried several led bulbs, I did end up going with 3 incandescent 25W small globe bulbs. I’m extremely happy with the way this turned out! It came expertly packaged with a long enough hanging chain that it could’ve been hung from a vaulted ceiling (I used less than half the chain). Instructions were very simple and I was able to hang it by myself (my husband held the light for me) without much fuss. It is sturdy and well-made: the hanging bracket screws into the top very securely with just one screw. We recently got a new round table from Wayfair and I wanted a round dome light to go with it and this is perfect. I love that the style is fairly transitional; the light fixture we had here before was somewhat industrial-farmhouse and we’ve got a lot of different styles going on in here: some traditional, some modern/contemporary - a mix of antiques, farmhouse, and elegance. This light manages to go with all of it! I love the look of this pendant light in the day, and the soft glow that it bathes the table in at night is exactly what I was looking for!
