It is adjustable. The item was incorrectly marked as not adjustable. The last photo shows that it can be used at 3 or 4 different heights. I did have some scratches on one of the shades

Beautiful light. I wanted something understated but elegant and this provides the perfect amount of light in my dining room. Goes nicely with my antique brass accents in the room. Love it! One note: it takes chandelier light bulbs. I looked all over so I could buy the right bulbs beforehand and couldn't find that info...
