This lamp is a nice height and I like that it can easily be adjusted. The shade is also easily adjustable to left and right. The cord is visible from the top all the way down, which I would not prefer, but I will put some clips on the cord and post to partially hide it. Also, the lamp shade is a gold color more than antique brass, as described. The inside of the shade is white. I would have preferred a darker antique brass color on the outside as well as the inside. I am satisfied with the lamp, however, and plan to keep it. The soft light, using a low wattage amber bulb (bulb is not included) does create a nice ambiance and overall the effect is understated, which is what I was looking for.
