I was forced to buy this back plate when the matching flood light arrived without one. The back plate was nearly the cost of the flood light. Its big and ugly but I don't want to spend another dime on this floodlight so I'll make do. I'll take some fault in that when I purchased the flood light I didn't notice it didn't come with a plate. Silly.
