CAME SO QUICKLY AND WORKED OUT GREAT

First of all, I was unpleasantly surprised to see all the grime on the box the kit was shipped in. It was covered in a fine, silty, brownish-grey powder that took me a bit to clean off before I even dared to open it. The contents weren't dirty, but looked like they'd been sitting around for a while. I was disappointed in the colour - nowhere near as rich as photos on various websites showed it to be. I ended up sanding off the coating (it came off way too easily) and spray-painted it in a different colour. Another unfavourable factor is that the canopy does not sit flush to the ceiling - it sticks out beyond the round metal mounting plate. It also does not have a rubber gasket to line the edge of the hole through which the downrod ball sits. All that being said, the mounting plate and bracket do appear to be sturdy so I can live with the other faults as long as the whole contraption holds up.
