The ribbing has a nice effect so the light isn’t super bright or overpowering. Installation was easy and instructions were pretty clear. I really like the modern aesthetic of this light, it’s simple and won’t go out of style. The midnight black finish goes well with other light fixtures in our house.

Obviously you can put in a bulb and utilize a near by light switch. If power is not an option I am loving the battery operated option, twinkle lights, or flowers. The texture of the shade is truly stunning and should certainly enhance any room.
